A message informs Kawase of her father’s death. More than 8 years has passed since her journey in “Embracing”. She watches her film again with her friends. Kawase bears ambiguous feelings, throughout the film, watching the interviews of her biological and foster mother. She hasn’t overcome the pain of her abandonment, she has existential doubts. The title Kya Ka Ra Ba A is a Buddhist term, kya – the sky, ka – wind, ra – fire, ba – water, and a – earth, all of which, altogether, means the world composed of those elements.
