A striking portrayal of three women, ex-child fighters, who took part of the long civil war in Sierra Leoa and Liberia. Filmed in Sierra Leoa, it includes statements by Anita Jackson, who was a nurse and voluntary combatant in Sierra Leoa’s army, Chris Conteh, who was kidnapped and who fought with the RUF (Revolutionary United Front), and Mahade Pako, who was also kidnapped by the ULIMO (United Liberian Movement for Democracy).

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Meira Asher was born in Israel and lives in the Netherlands; she is a composer and performer. She has a bachelor’s degree in percussion and multidisciplinary art (California Institute of the Arts) and a master’s degree in musicology (Royal Conservatory of the Hague, Netherlands). She has done various performance and installation projects, and co-founded Bodylab, an arts foundation.
