JOY DIVISION
A film by Grant Gee, UK,2007, 93 min.
Original version with Portuguese subtitles.

It was 4 July 1976 when four youths saw the Sex Pistols show in the Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall. Following this effervescence based on post-punk rebelliousness, Joy Division marked out its own territory in a context of rivalry with many other bands that appeared on the scene at the same time. The three surviving members of the band, Bernard Summer, Stephen Morris and Peter Hook, are among the characters that rebuild essential details about its path, which was changed radically when Ian Curtis, the vocalist, committed suicide in 1980, at the age of 23 years.
