WILD COMBINATION: PORTRAIT OF ARTHUR RUSSELL
A film by Matt Wolf, USA, 2008, 71 min.
Origiinal version with Portuguese subtitles.

A seminal artist, singer and composer, cellist, and music producer, Arthur Russell produced a work that still impresses, and finally seems to have found his public. He died prematurely of AIDS in 1992. He created music that went from pop to the transcendental possibilities of abstract art. This documentary shows images and rare archive recordings, statements from familymembers, friends and collaborators such as Philip Glass and Allen Gisnberg, and tells a pungent story.
