WHITE PALMS (Fehér tenyér)

Miklos Dongo is an Olympic gymnast whose career is cut short by a physical injury. In attempting to rebuild his life, he moves over to Canada, where he becomes a coach. He will train a young gymnast who is one of the great hopes of Canadian sport. But the boy is futile and inattentive, and Miklos is unable to establish a relationship with him. He then realizes that he will first have to face his own fears and the ghost of his own diabolic coach.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Szabolcs Hajdu was born in 1972, in Hungary. He studied at the Budapest Theater and Cinema University, and was an actor during the 90s. After making a number of shorts, he directed a feature film that won many prizes, Sticky Matters (2001). After that he made Tamara (2004). This is his third film, which played in the Director’s Fortnight in the Cannes Film Festival (2006).
