BUILDING A BROKEN MOUSETRAP
A non-orthodox documentary that celebrates a show by the Dutch band The Ex playing at the Knitting Factory in New York. The Ex had many incarnations over more than 25 years, combining the original anarchical-political punk spirit with folkloric and noisy improvisation. The movie interposes protest scenes from New York against the 2004 Republican convention, which the director named “the most ferocious and passionate musical performance that I have witnessed in over 20 years of filming music”.
