Las Vegas, Independence Day. Hank (Frederic Forrest) and Frannie (Teri Garr) are a couple going through a period of boredom in their relationship. They end up discussing and each one decides to celebrate the holiday far from each other. Both feel attracted to other partners. She is attracted to a gentle waiter, Ray (Raul Julia), and he is attracted by Leila (Nastassja Kinski), a lovely model. Coppola recreated Las Vegas in a studio; the sound track includes songs sung by Tom Waits and Crisal Gayle.
