A documentary by Jason Barroso Santa Rosa and Rodolfo Magalhães, MG, 2006, 88´.

The bells speak. Bells and bell ringers in historical towns in the state of Minas Gerais mark the lives of local inhabitants from birth to death. Bell ringing celebrates daily events and local festivities with chimes and peals. From the atavistic percussion on stone to the metallurgical handicraft of the smelter, this secular form of expression is narrated by its own creators – trainees, young practitioners and master bell ringers – who reveal cases and secrets of the most simple to the most complex calls that bells can voice.
