Philip is a literary prodigy wandering through New York, about to release the follow up for his widely successful first novel. He is angry, bored, and desperate to go out of his town and of the routine his relationship with his photographer girlfriend Ashley has fallen into. Ike Zimmerman, an older author and personal idol for Philip, lends his summer house to the young writer. The film follows then Ashley and Ike in their particular problems and isolation. A character study that unfolds into three.

About the director Alex Ross Perry was born in july 14th of 1984, in Bryn Mawr, on the north american state of Pennsylvania. He graduated on Film at NYU in 2006, and three years later released his first feature, the absurdist comedy Impolex, freely inspired in the style of Thomas Pynchon. His following films, though, The Color Wheel and Listen Up Philip gained critical praise among USA’s independent filmmaking scene.
